The Kaththi director shatters hopes of an epic team up

Bad news for Tollywood fans who hoped to see Mahesh Babu and Akshay Kumar in a film together. AR Murugadoss confirmed that Akshay Kumar will not be playing any role in this Mahesh Babu film putting to rest the rumours. According to sources, the art department of this film has been busy erecting multiple sets for a song shoot at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. The regular shoot of this film will kickstart with this song shoot. Santosh Sivan is going to work as Director of Photography and music director Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for this film. Brahmotsavam may have bombed at the box office but Mahesh Babu is ready to start his new film under the direction of AR Murugadoss.This untitled film is touted to be a trilingual Telugu-Tamil-Hindi film which is made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. Mahesh Babu is going to portray the role of a powerful cop and incidentally, this is for the fourth time that he is playing a cop in his career. The actor had previously played the role of a cop in the films like Pokiri, Dookudu and Aagadu. But this time he will be seen in a more stylish and powerful avatar. Meanwhile, the makers have confirmed that director SJ Suryah is going to play the antagonist in this film. The actor/director has been receiving a lot of appreciation for his role as Arul in the recently released Tamil film Iraivi which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
