Continuing his attack on the Akhilesh Yadav government over Mathura clashes, BJP national president Amit Shah Tuesday said that the Uttar Pradesh government was doing nothing apart from shielding the ruling Samajwadi Party’s ‘goons’ who are encroaching government properties.

Addressing a meeting of BJP’s booth unit presidents of Braj region in Kasganj district, Shah today said that Akhikesh government was not ashamed even after the Mathura incident.

“We demanded for a detailed and fair inquiry in the matter. But they (government) are not agreeing for that. We demanded for inquiry against the person who gave patronage to Ramvriksh Yadav… but they are not showing interest in that too,” Shah said.

Shah promised to free encroached land once BJP comes to power in the state. “Those illegally encroaching land will be identified, and action will be taken against those goons,” he said.

Festive offer

Shah announced that BJP’s UP unit will release an email address tomorrow to which an anyone could send them information to the party if a SP ‘goon’ illegally encroaches any public land. “On receiving information, BJP workers will get that land freed. We will force local DM and SP to get that property evacuated from encroachers,” Shah said.

Addressing a similar meet in Kanpur on June 4, Shah had demanded resignation of senior SP leader and Cabinet Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav over Mathura incident. The BJP leader had openly said that encroachers at Jawaharbagh — who had allegedly opened fire on police — had patronage of Shivpal. BJP has demanded for a CBI inquiry in the matter and a delegation of BJP leaders had met Governor Ram Naik on Monday demanding the same.

Shah said that Akhilesh was not concerned about providing electricity in villages, crop insurance to farmers, employment to youths and laptops to girls from all communities. “Do you know what this government is doing? Go to your village and check about any vacant land plot. Definitely any SP men would have illegal possession on that land,” Shah said.

Shah in the BJP booth presidents meet in Kasganj today said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji UP walle hain kyunki woh UP se chun kar sansad me gayen hain (Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is a UP man because he chose to contest from here and won).”

Shah said that the PM has a responsibility towards the development of UP, but the Akhilesh government is obstructing him.

Shah said that when BJP will form government in UP, every village and town of the state will get round the clock power supply in five years.

“The Centre has surplus electricity but state government will have to purchase that. There is no shortage of power in the country. But the there is lack of willingness in Mulayam and Akhilesh government due to which electricity is not reaching to many areas of UP. State government in five years could not create infrastructure that was required to supply power at every home of every poor,” Shah said.

Calling the UP government ‘anti-farmer’, Shah said that Akhilesh Yadav should resign for not implementing crop insurance scheme that Prime Minister has launched to benefit farmers. The UP government has not submitted a proposal towards implementation of the scheme so far and hence the government will be responsible if the farmers do not get benefit from the scheme, he said.

Shah also accused the UP Police of failing to file FIRs against those belonging to a particular community. “By excluding some people, others in the state are living sub-standard life,” he said.

Shah alleged that the Congress-led UPA government with support from SP and BSP indulged in corruption and siphoned off more than 12 lakh crore money of public was transferred to houses of Congress men.

Claiming that the BJP is in a direct fight in UP against SP, Shah said only the BJP can defeat SP in the state in the upcoming polls. Shah asked the party workers to contact at least 50 of their relatives by phone, letters or SMS and appeal to them to support BJP in the next polls.
