Woman held for cheating 13 with promise of govt job
Pune: The Faraskhana police on Monday arrested 30-year-old Ujjwala Devanand Kadam alias Ujjwala Dodke of Kasba Peth for allegedly cheating 13 unemployed youths of Rs 5.7 lakh by promising them jobs in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
One of the victims, Puja Salunkhe (28) of Kasba Peth, lodged a police complaint claiming that Kadam duped her, her relatives and a few others.

Salunkhe, who works as a maid, said that Kadam was her neighbour and both of them had known each other for years. In 2014, Kadam told Salunkhe that there were vacancies in PMC and that men and women were required to clean PMPML bus depots and buses.
Kadam allegedly gave forms to Salunkhe, her relativesand a few other youths in the area. After they filled the forms, Kadam took Rs 30,000 from each person.
Later, she took these youths to a citizens' facilitation center and accepted the filled forms there. She allegedly told them that they would get a PMC job within three months.
After collecting the money, Kadam allegedly vanished from Kasba Peth about one-and-a-half-years ago. Senior police inspector Rekha Salunkhe of Faraskhana police station said that after Kadam vanished from the scene, her parents had registered a missing person's complaint. "We started investigating the cheating and missing person's complaint again. Within hours, it was revealed that she had eloped with a man and was in Yerawada. We went to her house and arrested her," she said.
