SHIVAMOGGA: State government has decided to open hi-tech ESI hospitals at Shivamogga, Ramanagara, Kolar and Bellary, labour minister Parameshwar Nayak said here on Sunday.
After chairing a review meeting of his department, the minister said the state has already written to the central government seeking approvals to start work.
"The government is also contemplating to start a skill development centre to help youths," he said.
The minister has asked deputy commissioners to identify land to construct these new facilities.
When asked about deputy SP Anupama Shenoy's resignation controversy, he said: "BJP's allegations are baseless and there is no need to respond to such baseless statements."
Two students drown in Sharavathi
Two SSCL students -- Hosangar Atri, 15, and Vignesh, 16 - who had gone to take bath in Sharavathi river drowned on Sunday evening. Both were students of Bharathi Gurukula at Ramachandrapur Mutt. Atri and Vignesh were from Sirsi and went to take bath in the river near mutt after finishing classes, police said. Cops fished out the bodies with the help of villagers.
