Conference on food habit of Tamils held

A conference on food habit of Tamils was held here recently.

The event was jointly organised by Tamil Maruthuva Kazhagam and Agam Trust. President and Siddha Doctor D. Velayutham delivered the special address.

He said that wheat was not an alternative food that could be recommended for diabetic.

Millets as alternative

Instead, varieties of millets should be encouraged as a food alternative to rice. Butter milk instead of curd should be taken more, he added.

He elaborated on a number of specific cooking methods as well. Poet Vaiyavan presided over the meet.

Siddha Doctor of Avizhtham clinic and organizer of the event Dr.A.Kirubakaran delivered the introductory address.
