Kurukshetra: A total of Rs 3.56 crore will be spent on the revival of Surajkund in Jyotinagar, Kurukshetra, said governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, who laid the foundation stone of the pilgrimage spot here on Monday.
He also inaugurated a meditation centre on the northern fringe of Brahm Sarovar. Work to revive Surajkund, spread across 6.26 acres, will be carried out in two stages.
As much as 2.51 acres will be covered in lush green lawns and in 1.90 acres, a lake or water body will be constructed. It will help boost the tourism in the holy city, said Solanki. Deputy commissioner Rajnarayan Kaushik said the spot will have all the facilities such as toilets, shops, parking and sitting space for around 450 people.
