Zimbabwe Amalgamated Housing Association (ZAHA) is set to launch a nationwide campaign dubbed Zimba 365 aimed at inculcating patriotism into Zimbabweans as well as urge politicians to stop fighting each other and unite for the betterment of the country.

Addressing journalists in Harare yesterday, Chivi Rural District Council chairperson and ZAHA director-general, Dr Killer Zivhu said the concept of Zimba 365 was to ensure that the spirit of “selfishness” departs from people.

He said some people were boasting of having millions of dollars when the country has millions of people who require only $100 to change their lives.

“We are launching Zimba 365, a forum where we are saying we want all Zimbabweans to be patriotic and come together in all sectors, be it economically, politically and socially and feel that they are Zimbabweans 365 days of the year.

“As politicians, it does not matter which party you belong to. As politicians, they have different ideologies, but we are saying let us be united under Zimba 365. Whatever arguments we do, be it in Parliament or councils it has to benefit Zimbabweans,” he said.

“As Zimbabweans, before we point fingers on each other, we need to self-introspect and see what we have done to improve the economy.

“If others are not banking money, then you say l will not bank my money! We need to bank our money so that we do not have the liquidity crunch we are facing.”

Dr Zivhu also took a swipe on a number of prophets who have proliferated the country saying the crop of the prophets left a lot to be desired as they were enriching themselves by reaping the little that the poor have.

“We have a lot of prophets making money out of poor Zimbabweans. We are not saying it is bad to have prophets.

“We want prophets and churches that tell us what will happen in the future, so that we can plan ahead. Churches have a role to save souls, instead of fleecing ordinary people in the name of the Bible,” he said.

The first campaign by Zimba 365, will see Zimbabwe’s premier logistics company, CourierConnect partnering ZAHA to provide a platform to facilitate business for cross-border traders while promoting exports.

The Zimba 365 facility will be signed tomorrow, and will see the logistics firm offering a combo of products to informal traders that include the cheapest possible air travel and cargo import express.

CourierConnect will also facilitate cheaper air tickets through its subsidiary, the Civil Service Travel Bureau.

Zimba 365 will be coordinated by ZAHA which is an amalgamation of 65 associations who came together to provide accommodation for people.

The campaign by ZAHA will see public gatherings with different sectors such as breakfast meetings, rebranding of stickers, utilities and a clothing label named “Zimba 365”.
