MUMBAI: After removing the rumblers installed on the south-bound arm of the Eastern Freeway at Wadala, as they led to massive snarls, the traffic police have now resorted to thermoplastic paint to avert accidents once a new access ramp is thrown open to the public. Some amount of congestion was reported on Monday morning due to the paint, but officials said they would monitor the situation for a couple of days before arriving at any conclusion.
The paint was applied on the south-bound arm of the Freeway at Wadala on Saturday. Two constables have been posted near the stretch to monitor the situation. “I was stuck for around 15 minutes at Wadala at 9.30am. There was a jam and backlog,” said Parag Hangekar, a CA.
The 250m ramp, which will carry traffic from Wadala towards CST, was to open in 2013 but work got delayed as the land was marshy.
