Sapa is consolidating its position in the aluminum extrusion sector in France by investing in new value-adding services in Le Garric. The company now has five extrusion plants, located in Albi, Châteauroux, Lucé, and Puget, as well as the new location in Le Garric.

The new 2,400 sq m machining workshop at the Le Garric site, north of Albi, was opened on May 20. The workshop provides additional production capacity to expand the company’s machining capabilities and enhance its product line. The capacity will allow Sapa to extend its ability to meet the growing needs of customers by offering more complex parts to current and future customers, explained Gilles Le Bouquin, managing director of Sapa Extrusion France. He added, “This new workshop will enable us to meet the growing needs of our customers. Our key skills lie in providing aluminium solutions and state-of-the-art machining.”

The company invested approximately EUR 2 million in the Sapa Le Garric industrial facility, including new equipment. The site offers a range of services, including aluminium extrusion, surface treatment (lacquering), machining, logistics, a quality control laboratory, and a technical center. Sapa began the project in 2010 with the support of Albi-based Themelia, a company managing real estate projects for communities, associations, and private corporations for over 30 years. The increased machining capabilities also will allow Sapa to create some 27 new jobs.
