'No ransom paid for Kedia's release'

Patna: Bihar director general of police (DGP) P K Thakur on Monday dismissed reports that a ransom of Rs 10 crore was paid for the safe release of Suresh Kedia, a Nepali businessman who was kidnapped from Bariyarpur village in Nepal's Bara district on May 26 and rescued four days later by Bihar police from Kotwa in East Champaran district.
Ramesh Kedia, brother of the rescued Nepali businessman, was also present when the DGP addressed mediapersons here.
Ramesh, who met CM Nitish Kumar earlier in the day, thanked the Bihar police for the safe release of his brother and denied having paid any ransom to the abductors.
