'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' actress Devoleena expresses gratitude to fans after completing 4 years on show

Popular television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who has been charming her fans with the role of Gopi bahu on "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," has completed four years on the show. It should be mentioned that the role of Gopi Bahu was initially played by Gia Manek.

Gia had impressed viewers with the portrayal of a kind and demure daughter-in-law of the Modi family. But after she took an exit, Devoleena replaced her and soon made it into the hearts of viewers.

Devoleena took to her Instagram account to thank her fans for the love showered on her. "Time to Time...Years to Years...its not just with a blink...but yes I do agree..Time flies...and here I completed 4 beautiful years.poore 4 saal hogaye...arey haan I am talking about Saathiya...its been 4 years now..Thank you everyone for your tremendous support,unconditional love & blessings... #blessed, [sic]" she posted.

Meanwhile, "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" recently took a four-year leap, after which the storyline essentially revolves around Gopi bahu and her struggles after the death of Ahem Modi (Mohammad Nazim). She is seen facing several challenges, which are also affecting the lives of her family members. 

There were reports earlier that the makers were planning to take a generation leap in the story and Devoleena was not happy with the development. It was said Devoleena didn't want to age on screen and her reluctance at playing a grandmother on the show had caused an obstruction for the script writers.

After several key actors expressed their reservation about ageing on-screen, the makers decided to  take a four-year leap that the leading actors agreed to, instead of a generation time jump.
