AHMEDABAD: Shuttlers from Ahmedabad had a good day in the finals of the under-17, 19 State Badminton Championship. In the under-17 boys singles final, Abhuday Agrawal came back from a set down to beat Bhavin Karamchandani of Mehsana 14-21, 21-18, 21-10 to capture the trophy.
The under-17 girls singles title too came to the city as Devarshi Sanghvi breezed past Rehanshi Bisht of Jamanagar 21-16, 21-12.

Meanwhile, Jeel Patel of Mehsana and Tanisha Joshi of Jamnagar beat duo of Rehanshi and Zeel Rohit of Bharuch 21-18, 21-15 in the girls' double final while Anniruddha Kushwah of Valsad and Bhavin eased past pairing of Manav Tandel of Surat and Kunal Sokar of Mehsana 21-9, 21-14 to win the boys' doubles final.
Counted as state’s best shuttle, Ahmedabad’s Aryamaan Tandon downed fellow citymate Vishal Dave 21-6, 23-21 to lift the under-19 boys' singles title while the duo of Mayuri Yadav and Saumya Singh brushed aside Vadodara's pairing of Jahnvi Khanna and Jui Shah 21-15, 21-16 for the girls' doubles title.
Saumya then paired with Digvijaysinh Kushwaha of Valsad to beat Mehsana's Dhrumil Patel and Vadodara's Maitreyee 21-17, 21-13 for the mixed doubles title whereas city's Ritin Venarse and Dhrumil clinched the boys' doubles title with a 21-18, 21-17 win against Digvijaysinh and Shrey Joshi of Bharuch.
