Bonded for life, death didn't do them part
Maganbhai Gohil died when he saw the mortal remains of his wife, Motaben.
Ahmedabad: They had journeyed together for 65 eventful years. Thus when Motaben Gohil, 85, a resident of Shitalnagar in Amraiwadi, bade adieu to the world on Sunday, her husband Maganbhai, 91, joined her so that death did not do them part. The family took out a funeral procession for both on Sunday evening and also conducted the last rites for the two side by side.

Harshad Patel, a social worker, said that the couple looked after an extended family of 27 associated with garments and jute business and had seen three generations growing in front of their eyes. "None had any major disease and we believe that it was age-related issues due to which Motaben, also known as Ba, died," he said.
"However, what surprised all was the sudden demise of Maganbhai. He collapsed when he came to see her mortal remains and did not recover."
The last rites were performed in the presence of over thousand local residents at Hatkeshwar crematorium, said family members.
