Fazilka SSP calls for setting up of police-public panels

FAZILKA: Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, Narinder Bhargv, has directed the police administration to constitute police-public committees to tackle issues related to traffic bottlenecks, encroachments, eve-teasing, drug menace and other law and order matters within two days.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, Narinder Bhargv, has directed the police administration to constitute police-public committees to tackle issues related to traffic bottlenecks, encroachments, eve-teasing, drug menace and other law and order matters within two days.

The decision came after a meeting between the district police chief and members of the Beopar Mandal, Fazilka, and citizens led by Mandal president Ashok Gulbadhar.

Arhtiya Association president Kewal Chaudhary highlighted the issue of maintenance of law and order. He demanded the arrest of the accused who had assaulted a commission agent three days back.

Punjab Wholesale Distributors Association, Fazilka, president, Ashwani Dhingra highlighted traffic issues.

KK Grover, chemist, demanded the relaxation in sale procedures of pain killers and psychotropic drugs.

Block Congress Committee president Surinder Kalra and NGO Social Welfare Society senior vice-president Shashi Kant called upon residents to cooperate with the police in solving problems. Graduates Welfare Association patron Bhupinder Singh pleaded for the widening and maintaining-one way traffic on the highly congested court road railway crossing.
