Japan CPA body, Daiwa to train Myanmar accountants

TOKYO -- A Japanese accounting association will partner with Daiwa Securities Group on training for certified public accountants in Myanmar, supplying know-how to help meet a need created by the recent launch of the country's first stock exchange.

Just two companies are listed on the Yangon Stock Exchange, which opened in March. Promoting trading on the bourse requires ensuring investor confidence in the information that businesses provide. Myanmar urgently needs trained accountants to conduct audits.
