Inspector-General of Police, Rayalaseema Range, N. Sridhar Rao, on Saturday exhorted police officials to tackle cyber crime by taking it as a challenge and by utilising advanced technology.
Investigate cases with transparency and ensure speedy justice to the aggrieved, he said while addressing police officials at a crime review meeting in Vyas auditorium here. He wanted priority accorded to community policing by establishing rapport with the people. Render social service activities and win the hearts of people, he added.
Every police station must have a complaint box and notice boards displaying the names of officers and the timings of their duties. “The police and the forest officials are working in tandem to curb red sanders smuggling and considerable progress will be made in the next three months,” he said. He suggested a documentary on developmental programmes undertaken in Kappatralla, a faction-ridden village adopted by Kurnool SP A. Ravikrishna and its screening in other faction-ridden villages to make a positive impact.
He reviewed sub-division wise the issues like red sanders, communal disturbances, naxalism, factionalism, matka, traffic control, and road accidents.
The SP gave a PowerPoint presentation on maintenance of law and order, red sanders offences and Krishna pushkaralu arrangements. Additional SPs T. Chandrasekhar Reddy and Radhakrishna, Home Guard Commandant N. Chandramouli, DSPs Veeraraghava Reddy, J. Babu Prasad, A.G. Krishnamurthy, K. Srinivasa Rao, Baba Fakruddin, Easwar Reddy, Y.
