8-year-old subscriber wins Rs 1m in Kantipur Karodpati
Eight-year-old Shreya Shrestha has won Rs 1 million as part of Kantipur Karodpati Yojana, a subscription campaign of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), for this month. “I was astonished when I was told over phone that my daughter had won Rs 1 million for subscribing Kantipur,” said the happy father. “Both luck and her grandmother’s blessing was on her side.” Raj Kumar and his family, who are originally from Ramechhap, have been living in Kathmandu.
The winner was picked through a lucky draw in a televised event that was aired on Kantipur Television. Under the Karodpati scheme, subscribers of The Kathmandu Post and the Kantipur dailies get scratch coupons where they can win cash prizes of Rs 100,000 every week, Rs 1 million every month and Rs 10 million grand prize.
KMG Assistant General Manager Sunil Basistha congratulated the winner of the prize and said that the millionaire subscription scheme, which was launched one year ago, was continued this year because of its massive popularity.
