All municipalities to get piped water soon

Vice-Chairman of the Telangana Drinking Water Supply Corporation (Mission Bhageeratha), Vemula Prashant Reddy announced that soon, all the municipalities in the State, along with the villages inside the Outer Ring Road, will be given piped water supply, and urged the local bodies to establish internal pipeline network before that.

Where the pipelines already exist, their capacity should be increased in line with the Mission Bhageeratha standards, he said, at a review meeting with officials of Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, here on Friday.

Mr. Reddy also reviewed works of intake well at Jalalpur in Armoor segment of Nizamabad district which would supply to Armoor, Kamareddy, Balkonda, Yellareddy, Korutla, Jagtial, and Nizamabad (Rural) areas.

Higher number of skilled labour, and work in three shifts were suggested by him to the work agencies, to which the latter assured that the work would be completed by September 10.

Mr. Reddy also reviewed the works of Karimnagar, Korutla, Jagtial, Dharmapuri, Vemulawada and Choppadanti segments, and of the water treatment plant at Sircilla.

Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, M.G.Gopal, Managing Director of HMWS&SB Dana Kishore, Engineer-in-Chief of Public Health R.Dhan Singh, and Engineer-in-Chief, RWS&S Surender Reddy were among those who attended the meeting.
