PALAMPUR: Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Sulaha MLA Jagjivan Pal said no wine shops would be allowed to come up in the Sulaha area against the wishes of local residents.

Palampur, June 3

Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Sulaha MLA Jagjivan Pal said no wine shops would be allowed to come up in the Sulaha area against the wishes of local residents.

He said he received complaints that wine shops were being opened against the wishes of panchayats, local schools and mahila mandals. He said he did not approve the opening of such liquor shops and the Excise Department should review its decision and shift these shops away from the villages, schools and religious places. — OC
