Police have launched a massive operation along the Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran district to arrest the remaining kidnappers of Suresh Kedia, a business magnet of Birgunj in Nepal.

Raxaul: Police have launched a massive operation along the Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran district to arrest the remaining kidnappers of Suresh Kedia, a business magnet of Birgunj in Nepal. Kedia was rescued by the police from Kotawa area in East Champaran district on May 29.
East Champaran SP Jitendra Rana said of the six criminals involved in kidnapping Kedia, three have been arrested.
According to police sources, two criminals - Ranjan Ojha and Mohammad Jawed - have been arrested in connection with the case and the SUV used in kidnapping has also been recovered from a workshop at Molinari.
Police said the kidnappers were probably members of Bablu Dubey gang. Dubey is presently lodged in Buxar jail.
One Bablu Paswan, a close aide of Dubey, has also been arrested by the police. SP Rana said efforts were also on to arrest the driver of the SUV which was used to kidnap Kedia.
Taking the matter seriously, Nepal home minister Shakti Basnet has also ordered a high level inquiry by central investigation bureau. He said Kedia's kidnapping was a challenge to the government. Basnet has directed senior police officers to ensure foolproof security of businessmen. Narayan Singh Hadaka, chief of Narayani police zone and IG, said the armed forces, police and STF personnel will guard the porous border.
DIG of Narayani zone Pashupati Upadhyay said the role of senior police officers of this region was also under scanner.
SHOs of Telkua and Kawahi Hemraj Nyopane and Chandra Shansher Kanwar, respectively, and two other policemen have already been put under suspension.
