Hop from one market to another starting from the APS Gallery (along Muthuraman Chetty Road) to the Dream showroom (along River Valley Road). There are more than 50 F&B and lifestyle merchants at these locations, and you can munch on grub from exciting eateries such as Paper Crane, Aloha Poke and Red Eye Smoke house. Food aside, you can also expect quirky wares from stores such as Vinylicious Records and Magpie Magazines. Free shuttle bus services are available from Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut. METAMORPHOSIS: WORLD OF PUPPETS

The award-winning play that recently took the honours of Best Artistic Production at the World Puppet Harmony Festival in Bangkok has come to the Esplanade. Metamorphosis is a collection of interesting and fascinating short stories brought to life through puppetry. Tickets are priced at S$35 and are available at the Esplanade.

SINGAPORE IMPROV FESTIVAL

Singapore’s first improv festival will showcase the best alternative theatre and comedy scenes by 15 homegrown teams. No two shows are the same — and you can root for your favourite teams as they make up stories, characters and dialogues on the spot with suggestions from the audience. Spanning different genres, there will be comedy, romance, social commentary and musicals in store. The festival ends tomorrow. At Centre 42, Waterloo Street. OUR ARMY EXHIBITION 2016

Head down to the Open Field beside NEX in Serangoon today and tomorrow for a weekend of fun, exciting and educational action. Find out more about the army through various activities such as tasting of combat field rations, watching an eye-opening display of unarmed combat and seeing trained military dogs in action. Children are also welcomed to attend, and they can dress up in military uniforms, paint their face with camouflage cream, test their shooting skills and more. Admission is free.

ODYSSEY, A BASSOON JOURNEY

Why not embark on an epic bassoon journey at Forte Music Academy at Waterloo Street tomorrow? Presented by Brownhill Consultancy and held as part of the Save The Bassoon campaign, this recital, from 4pm to 5.30pm, celebrates the musical journey of local musician Jo Anne Sukumaran accompanied by pianist Beatrice Lin. The programme will include music from familiar and lesser-known composers around the world such as Mozart, Weber and Migone. Tickets are priced at S$20 from Peatix and all proceeds will go towards the campaign.

DBS MARINA REGATTA

Singapore’s largest water sports fest by the bay continues for a second weekend, with newer and bolder experiences. Catch the live action between the region’s top dragon boating teams as they battle it out. Don’t miss the urban pop-up beach with its inflatable water slide that is over five-storeys tall. The festival will also include local designers selling artisanal and unique crafts, as well as food village Chow House where you can have mouth-watering delights. At the Promontory @ Marina Bay, today and tomorrow, 11am to 10pm. Admission is free.

HEADS UP: KIDS FOR A GREENER WORLD AT KIDZANIA SINGAPORE

This June school holidays, bring your family down to KidZania Singapore for its inaugural “Kids for a Greener World” programme. Kids can learn how to play a part in caring for the environment. Some activities there includes an art installation by Eco-Artist Didier Ng and Eco-Designer Zhao Jian Wen at the Main Square. In addition, kids can make their own turtle hatchlings using recycled materials. From June 11 to 26, at Palawan Kidz City. Tickets and more information can be found on http://www.kidzania.com.sg/.

HEADS UP: DAD’S DAY OUT

Father’s Day is coming and what better way to celebrate it than by bringing your dad to this event? Located at Singapore Sports Hub’s OCBC Square, families can participate in the Dad’s Challenge activties, which consist of a series of seven fun-filled activities such as taking a we-fie while on a scooter or getting your face painted together.
