Sleuths aim to make NRHM case chargesheet watertight
Jaipur: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigating corruption and bribery case in NRHM-IEC are in no hurry to file a chargesheet.
The ACB is said to be filing chargesheet in stipulated deadline of 60 days and ensuring that their subordinates make it stronger to get all the five accused prosecuted in the case. As per the plan, the ACB is preparing to file the chargesheet by the second week of July.
Senior officers of ACB on Thursday said that they already have a strong case but they will have to support all the charges against IAS officer Neeraj K Pawan, RAS officer Anil Agarwal, Deepa Gupta, chief accounts officer, NRHM-IEC, Joji Varghese, store keeper and Ajit Soni, a private person with proper evidences.
"We are in no hurry as we are planning to file chargesheet between July 10 and July 15. The interrogation is going in the right direction. Though both the officers are not cooperating, we have no issues as in corruption charges the onus is always on accused to prove himself innocent. We will support the chargesheet with the transcripts of their telephone calls, office documents, documents showing transactions of money taken as bribe and most importantly supporting Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report of the documents and electronic gadgets," said a senior officer of ACB.
According to ACB sources, both Neeraj and Anil are not cooperating in the investigation. Sleuths of ACB on May 18 had registered an FIR against Pawan and four others in a case of alleged corruption in awarding tenders for various schemes under the NRHM-IEC. ACB had also arrested two government officials and a private person in connection with the alleged bribery case of NRHM on late night.
