Girl commits suicide
A 15-year-old girl, Pavithra, who was dejected over her mother’s scolding for scoring low marks in 10th public examination, committed suicide at her house at Ilangipatti near Othakadai. Police said that the girl committed self-immolation on Tuesday night after her mother Banumathi scolded her for scoring only 350 marks. The victim was rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital where she died on Wednesday. Othakadai police have registered a case of suicide.
