Pre-litigation mediation adalat held

The State Legal Services Authority organised a Pre-litigation mediation adalat for the settlement of claims of the victims of HRTC bus accidents which took place at Theog in Shimla district, Karsog and Joginder Nagar in Mandi district in May. All victims and survivors of the deceased participated in this mediation process. More than 20 trained mediators and two doctors participated in the adalat. — OC

CUHP: Protesters end hunger strike

The Central University Sangharsh Morcha seeking the establishment of the CUHP campus at Dehra ended its agitation on Thursday. Members said they would wait for the decision of the Delhi High Court. Vinod Sharma, a Supreme Court advocate, who is fighting their case, offered juice to Surekha Choudhary, Tripta Sharma and Madhubala. Seventy persons who sat on the chain hunger strike were honoured. — OC

Volvo service from Hamirpur to PGI soon

Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will reportedly start the Volvo bus service between Hamipur and the PGIMER, Chandigarh, soon. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, said he had appraised GS Bali, Transport Minister, of the problem being faced by the people due to the unavailability of comfortable transport service here. He said the service would not only help the patients to reach the PGI in time, but also save them money. — OC

Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam has launched a new Facebook portal named as Mesmerising Mandi, where visitors of page can have a look at tourist places in the district.  The main purpose behind its launch was to provide vital information about tourist places of district Mandi, which can help visitors to decide that what places they prefer to visit. — TNS
