The driver of a private tourist bus from Andhra Pradesh was fined for allegedly driving recklessly in an ancient gateway near Krishna Temple in Hampi on Sunday morning.

BALLARI: The driver of a private tourist bus from Andhra Pradesh was fined for allegedly driving recklessly in an ancient gateway near Krishna Temple in Hampi on Sunday morning. The rash and negligent driving had displaced the stone beam near the gateway.
The work on resetting the stone beam was completed under the supervision of Kamalapur staff of Archeological Survey of India.
The work, done in a couple of hours, was carried out at the bus owner's cost.
The driver is said to have sped into the gateway when the security guard tried to stop the bus from entering the premises. ASI has registered an FIR against the driver complaining against rash and negligent driving.
Mini bus driver dies in accident:
The driver of a mini bus, who was returning to Hosapete after visiting a temple in Siruguppa, died after the vehicle hit a roadside tree on Sunday night. Twenty-four others in the mini bus sustained injuries.
The deceased is Mustaff Patel alias Khan, 38, a resident of Huligi Hosalli in Koppal district. The incident happened when he reached the outskirts of Bukkasagara village and died on the spot after hitting the tree. Of the 24 injured, nine have been admitted to VIMS Hospital in Ballari, and five at Davanagerea Government Hospital.
The others were sent home after treatment. A case has been registered at Kamalapura police station.
