BELAGAVI: Around 25 pilgrims from Mudalagi in Gokak taluk of Belgavai district, who were visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath, Hrishikesh and Haridwar since May 10, are heading towards New Delhi. They are safe, the cloudburst in Uttarakhand notwithstanding.
Speaking to the TOI, Basavaraj Viraktamath, a relative of one of the pilgrims, said that they were worried about the safety of the pilgrims following heavy rain in Uttarakhand, which has left roads and bridges submerged.

"We heaved a sigh of relief after they called us on phone, and said that they are safe," Basavaraj added.
Twenty other pilgrims from Mahalingapur in Bagalkot district have also gone on a pilgrimage operated by an Andhra Pradesh-based tourist company.
They were all camping in Haridwar after visiting Kedarnath, Badrinath and Hrishikesh on Sunday evening. However, their bus had crossed the area which has bore the brunt of the cloudburst.
