Federal Socialist Forum Chairperson Upendra Yadav today warned the a new constitution would be issued through a third people’s movement if the parties didn’t agree to rewrite the present constitution.

Addressing a protest meeting organised by the Federal Alliance in Pokhara today, Yadav argued that all the people’s movements since the Rana regime have been promulgating a new constitution, hence, the third people’s movement is a must to write the constitution of the people, which can satisfy the entire population.

“Grounds for the people’s movement across the country have been readied. This constitution, which is not accepted by a majority of the country’s population, has to be rewritten and a third people’s agitation is the only alternative.

This statute cannot establish peace, stability and prosperity of the country. Amendments alone are not enough,” he argued.

Senior leader Ashok Rai of the party argued that this statute was partial and regressive. “It has to be rewritten for the welfare of the people and the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sharat Singh Bhandari, chairperson of National Madhes Socialist Party also demanded that the constitution be rewritten to establish peace, prosperity and political stability in the country.
