Bus overturns, 42 passengers sustain injuries

Surat: At least 42 passengers sustained minor injuries when an Ahmedabad-bound private bus coming from Nashik overturned near Mandva village between Nana Pondha and Kaprada in Kaprada taluka of Valsad district on Monday morning. Some people were referred to Valsad after primary treatment at Nana Pondha primary health centre near here. Kaprada police station sources said the bus belonging to Chaudhary Travels was on its way to Ahmedabad via Surat when the driver lost control over the steering wheel and the vehicle went off the road into a nearby farm and overturned.
Police sub-inspector J P Parmar said "No one has sustained serious injury in the accident.The bus went off the road and only tilted slightly and hence the passengers were lucky to escape with minor injuries."Majority of the passengers in the bus were women and children.
