Jaipur: The cops on Monday managed to trace 13-year-old boy Yuvraj Mali, who went missing from his house in Shyam Nagar two days ago, but they were shocked to find that the child had faked his kidnap to run away from his family.
Irked over his father's "poor financial situation", Yuvraj had left home to become a mechanic and make a fortune, a police officer said.
Yuvraj took his younger brother into confidence, coaxing him into telling their parents that he had been kidnapped. The 10-year-old brother played his part in the story as after Yuvraj's disappearance he claimed that he had seen some men taking away Yuvraj in a Maruti Van on Saturday evening. "Yuvraj's father Rambabu is a vegetable vendor and earns a decent income. But Yuvraj used to be angry at his father when he didn't meet his demand for toys and other such things," said a police officer.
Yuvraj was last seen playing near his house on Saturday evening. After his younger brother claimed to have witnessed his kidnapping, police formed five teams to trace him, but to no avail. The first breakthrough came when the cops studied the call details of Yuvraj's mobile. As per his last call before his disappearance, he informed one of his friends that he was going to leave his house forever.
The police recovered the boy on Monday morning from near a park in B2 Bypass area. Someone close to the family had spotted the boy wandering around. He informed the family members and police following which he was brought home.
"Yuvraj told us that he had stayed at his friend's house on Saturday night. The family members of the friend, Mohanlal, allowed him to stay over when he told them that he had taken permission from his family members. He told them he had left home in the evening and could not return on time. Mohanlal's parents believed the story and let him stay," said the officer. Yuvraj then left Mohanlal's house on Sunday and kept wandering around the city. "Someone spotted him near a park on B2 Bypass," said the officer.
He added that
As per the boy, he was looking for someone who could train him for a mechanic's job."He thought mechanics earn a lot of money," said the officer.
