Painter electrocuted at Puzhuthivakkam

A painter was electrocuted and another was battling for life, after they came in contact with a live wire at Puzhuthivakkam on Monday afternoon.

Police said Kumar (32) of Vanuvampet and another man Selvam (34) were undertaking painting work inside the premises of a private school, when they accidentally came in contact with a live wire. However, it was not immediately known how they came into contact with a live wire, a police official at the spot said.

Kumar died on the spot and Selvam was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

The Madipakkam police have registered a case and Ilavarasan (50), owner of the building was taken into custody. Further investigations are underway.
