The youth should take a leaf from epics and epic characters such as Hanuman to excel in life, says scholar and founder-editor of Rishipeetham magazine Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma. He was in the city to deliver a discourse on ‘Sri Madbhaagawatantargata namah’ on as part of Hanumath jayanthi celebrations being organised by Maruti Vyayamasala here.

Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Sarma said that the youth should be confident of achieving their goal at the outset like Hanuman. They should take a cue from the life of Hanuman and keep luxuries and comforts at a distance until the goal was achieved. The State government can promote Buddha at Amaravati. But, at the same time, it should not ignore that the place is famous for Amareswara of Amaravati. Due importance should be given to it also, he said.

Questioned on Prof. Kancha Ilaiah’s remarks on Brahmins, the scholar felt that unfortunately some people were issuing provocative statements.
