In poll exercise,Shah has lunchdate with Binds
Lucknow: With an eye on 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections, BJP national chief Amit Shah is set to do a Rahul Gandhi. On way to Allahabad for Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel Kisan Sammelan on Tuesday, Shah will have lunch at a Bind community-dominated village in Varanasi.
The move is being seen as the BJP's bid to woo most backward caste voters .
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had been stopping at villages of Dalits or OBCs to have lunch, a move seen by political observers as a bid to send a message among the voters of the community.

RSS volunteers have been known to organise such mass feasts, claiming that every one is equal. However, the "samrasta bhoj" to be attended by Shah has more political connotations than social issues.
BJP's Kashi region chief Laxmanacharya told TOI that Shah was anyway going to Andawa in Allahabad to address a kisan rally and had to go for lunch somewhere. As the party has inroads in almost every village, party workers decided to organise a lunch for him at Jogiyapur village that falls in Sevapuri Vidhan Sabha area of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi.A BJP government in Uttar Pradesh as the next big goal, the BJP is not shying away from trying every possible trick to appease voters into party fold. The lunch at Jogiyapur, which the party has termed as "Harmony Lunch (samrasta bhoj)" is part of the same strategy.
