Patna: RJD boss Lalu Prasad on Monday lambasted the NaMo government at the Centre over the recent attacks on African nationals in New Delhi, saying, "The repeated attacks on foreigners is evidence that the so-called 'jungle raj' is prevailing in Delhi and not in the grand alliance-ruled Bihar."
"The BJP and some Union ministers keep on terming governance in Bihar as 'jungle raj'.
The way Africans are being attacked in Delhi these days, may I ask what kind of rule is there in Delhi?" Lalu quipped while talking to a section of reporters here.
Lalu pointed out that police in the national capital are not under the control of Arvind Kejriwal government. "Delhi Police are under the control of Union ministry of home affairs headed by a BJP's minister, who must reply what kind of rule is in Delhi? Why repeated incidents of attack on Africans are not being termed as 'jungle raj'?" he questioned.
Lalu asked the Centre to take cognizance of attacks and ensure safety and security to foreign nationals. "The Africans, who are being targeted one after another in the national capital, must now be terrified. The Centre must assure them about their security," he said. "Some Union ministers are dubbing these incidents as minor issues. This is a very grave issue, because of which Indian nationals living abroad may have to suffer. I condemn these attacks. The government must stop such attacks and assure safety to all foreigners in the national capital," the RJD chief said.

Lalu's son and Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has also expressed concern over the issue. "Several Africans brutally attacked in Delhi. An international shame. Who controls Delhi's law and order? What sort of "raj" is this? Name it...," Tejashwi said in a tweet. Lalu retweeted son Tejashwi's tweet on Monday.
Lalu and Tejashwi's remarks came in the wake of news about the alleged attacks on several Africans in the national capital last week. Three days back, Delhi Police registered four separate cases of assault on Africans. Earlier, a 23-year-old Congolese national Masonda Ketada Olivier was beaten to death on May 20 after a spat over hiring of an autorickshaw in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi.
Bihar's opposition parties like BJP, RLSP and HAM(S) have recently targeted Nitish government on the law and order situation by claiming 'return of jungle raj'after the murder of a Class XII student in a road rage case at Gaya and a journalist in Siwan a few weeks ago.
