Rain lashes HP, plunges mercury

Shimla, May 30 (UNI) Windstorm and rain showers in the past 24 hours has brought down the mercury in Himachal Pradesh by three to four degrees.
Fiftythree mm rainfall was recorded at Sundernagar, Gohar in Mandi registered 37 mm, Khadrala in Shimla 20 mm, Mandi 14 mm, Bharwain in Hamirpur 10 mm, Berthin in Bilaspur & Karsog in Manid 9 mm each, Sunni Bhajji in Shimla, Baldwara in Mandi, Jubbal in Shimla 8 mm each, Naina Devi in Bilaspur six mm, Kumarsen in Shimla and Sangrah in Siramouar 5 mm each.
Shimla recorded 22 .8 degrees maximum temperature, Sunder nagar in Mandi 30.8 degrees, Bhuntar 31 degrees, Kalpa 19.8 degrees, Dharamshala 30.6 degrees, Solan 27.4 degrees, Una 37 degrees and Nahan in Sirmaour 33.2 degrees.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
