Dir CAPD Kashmir inspects ration depots in Sgr city, suspends two storekeepers

Director CAPD Kashmir, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah today along with a team of officers and officials inspected a number of ration depots in Srinagar city.During the inspection ration depots at  Khanyar, Naidkadal, Saidwari, (Gari MAsjid), Gasiyar, Hawal, Bachi Darwaza and Pathan Bagh inspected.During inspection the storekeepers of Khanyar, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Zargar and Storekeeper of Pathan Bagh Ration depot, Mr. Abdul Wahid were found distributing ration less than the prescribed scale to the rationees.The Director placed the two storekeepers under suspension on-the- spot and ordered an enquiry against them. He also called an explanation from concerned TSO’s for having failed to supervise Public Distribution System in their respective areas.

The Director interacted with the people at these rations depot. Generally, the people were found satisfied with the Public Distribution System and also with the rates and scales of the ration provided to them. However, the people demanded rice instead of atta and the Director CAPD Kashmir assured them that from the next month they shall be provided rice as per their demand. The people also hailed the decision of the government to provide additional 5 kgs of ration per soul under MMSFES from July 1, 2016.The Director also informed the people that the department shall be distributing ration for the month of July to them in advance in June 2016 along with the ration of June as per the directions conveyed by Minister for CAPD in view of holy month of Ramdhan. He also called upon the people to bring any irregularity in the ration distribution system into the notice of the department so that prompt action is taken against the erring.
