Report confirms presence of methyl alcohol

Thrissur: The test report on viscera sample of Kalabhavan Mani ruled out the presence of pesticide in the late actor's body. However, the report, from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad, confirmed the presence of highly toxic methyl alcohol.
According to sources in the police investigation team, "Though the report confirms the presence of methyl alcohol, a slight confusion prevails regarding the amount of the chemical.
This will be verified in a couple of days."
The report submitted on Sunday contradicts the earlier report submitted by government regional lab, Kakkanad. The regional lab report had confirmed the presence of pesticide chlorpyrifos.
Meanwhile, Mani's brother RLV Ramakrishnan said that the family would seek a re-examination of the viscera sample. He also expressed his doubt regarding the contradictory reports.
