ISLAMABAD: Abdul Hakeem Baloch, Minister of State for Communication lambasted on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his cabinet over callous attitude they have meted out to non-Punjabi ministers saying that it was horrible for him to join PML-N as he has got nothing but disgrace. “I am again thinking to rejoin Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP)”, Baloch who was once front man of PPP from Malir said while talking to Daily Times here on Saturday. Baloch, was only MNA of PML-N from Sindh, who contested the 2013 general elections on PML-N ticket and won his seat, had since not only been facing problems pertaining to his ministerial appointments but also his incapability to deliver to his constituency, comprising of Karachi’s rural and coastal areas. He sent his resignation to the Prime Minister house with an explanation that he had met the PM on 29 April and had expressed his concerns regarding the problems of his constituency and the his authority as a minister. He said that since those concerns were not addressed, he had resigned. “I was totally ignored in the cabinet and decision making in the party and no files was coming to me regarding the communication ministry” Baloch said, adding the Premier and his ministers were arrogant and callous towards non Punjabi ministers. “The premier came into my constituency and I was not informed about his visit” Baloch said, adding that during this visit he has raised the issues of his people and constituency with Nawaz Sharif and asked him establishment of university, a trauma centers and resolution of worsening power load-shedding and water crisis in his area. All that I have sought from the Federal Government was my right and right of my voters and the Premier promised with me to give me these projects and I have made announcement but again I was let down by my party”, Baloch said. He said that the attitude of the Prime Minister and his kitchen cabinet was very shocking. “I was very upset with this attitude and this left me only option to resign to face my people for whom I could not do anything for my people”, he added. It is pertinent to mention here that Abdul Hakeem Baloch had also tendered his resignation last year but withdrew it after the PML-N leader Captain Safdar assured him that his concerns would be looked into. There were rumors that he had developed some differences with PML-N but he never confirmed them. However, he had made a statement earlier and said that he was ashamed of not carrying out development projects in his constituency. “It is because I have no funds and no powers,” he said.
