Samooh Theatre organizes musical evening

JAMMU, May 29: Samooh Theatre today organized a musical evening here at KL Saigal Hall in Cultural Academy wherein budding singers of the State enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances.
On this occasion, Dr Gagan Bhagat, MLA RS Pura constituency, was the chief guest while Jasmeet Kour, noted singer of the State was the guest of honor.
Dr Gagan Bhagat in his address appreciated Samooh Theatre for providing a platform to the young artists of the State.
The programme was conceived by Dr Sudhir Mahajan while it was compiled and composed by Dharmesh Nargotra, a noted ‘A’ grade singer of State.
The function was witnessed by the galaxy of artist’s, art lovers, writers and the theatre/ culture activists of the State besides, Payasa Anjum, Vishal Nagar, Neeraj Sethi and Vijay Sharma.
The budding artists of Sapatak Sangeet Niketan, Jammu gave a lot of performances in the form of folk songs, Ghazals, Sufi, lights etc and enthralled the audience. The artists who performed include Azad Fargotra, Sunil Singh, Shreeya, Aarav, Diya, Bhart, Satinder, Parijat, Manmeet Mamata Himjeet, Sacin, Jia Lal, Vikram, Sanchit, Deep Sehgal, Des Raj, Diksha, Shanu, Sonia, Karan Deep, Vishakha Bhardwaj and Payal Dogra.
The artists also sang the poetry of Sudh Anjum, OP Sharma Sarthi and Nidha Fazli. They were accompanied by Rahul Bhardwaj (on Tabla) Monty Jalotra (Synth), Shiv Sharma (on Harmonium) and Abhishek Sehgal (on Dhol).
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan presented welcome address while vote of thanks was presented by Ravinder Sharma.
