Chief Minister Manohar Lal has categorically blamed the Congress for arson and violence during the recent Jat agitation for reservation in Rohtak and the neigbouring districts of Sonepat, Jhajjar and Jind.
Addressing a “vikas and sandesh” rally at the old ITI grounds here this evening, the Chief Minister maintained that more proof of the involvement of Congress leaders in the violent agitation was coming to the fore.
The Chief Minister okayed several developmental projects worth nearly Rs 1,000 crore for Rohtak the demands for which were raised by local MLA Manish Grover.
The major projects announced by Khattar for Rohtak include an elevated railway track in Rohtak town, Rohtak-Meham-Hansi railway line, an elevated road from Ambedkar Chowk to old bus stand, multi-storeyed parking lots, a railway overbridge, development of Transport Nagar, shifting of dairies and kaath-mandi (timber market) out of the town and beautification of the Tilyar tourism complex.
Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankhar revealed an ambitious project to link the ponds located in all villages of the state with the canal network.
Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu launched a direct attack against senior Congress leader and two-time Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, stating that he (Hooda) had tried to further his vested political interests in the garb of Jat quota stir.
