Kalraj, Paswan present progress report on Centre's cooperation to UP
LUCKNOW: Amidst claims by the UP government of non-cooperation from Modi government on various schemes thus stalling the pace of the development, Union Minister for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Misra came up with a detailed break up on how much UP has been given or sanctioned under various schemes.
Elaborating on the budget allocation from the Centre to UP, the state's share in taxes Misra stated was Rs 2.8lakh crore in 13th Finance Commission, but the same has been increased to Rs 7.10 lakh crore.
Similarly, Centre's grant to UP has been increased to over Rs 48,000 crore in 14th Finance Commission from over Rs 24,000 crore.
In SDRF head, UP has got Rs 2797 crore against Rs 1597 crore in 13th Finance Commission, Misra said and added local bodies grant has been upped to over Rs 46,000 crore from Rs 523 crore earlier.
Of the total 3729 crore allocated under SDRF, Rs 1123 crore has been released while under NDRF against Rs 15712 crore, Rs 4883 crore has been released, the minister said.
Making a bid to put an end to controversy over Bundelkhand package, the paper distributed to media persons during Kalraj Misra's press conference stated that a total of Rs 4,015 crore has been released.
Further elaborating, the progress summary stated that 4 additonal AIIMS have been sanctioned. Of which, Rs 823 crore has been allocated for AIIMS Rae Bareli, while upgradation of government hospitals to super speciality hospitals at Agra, Jhansi, Kanpur, Allahabad and Gorakhpur. Besides, 6 new medical colleges would be established and four district hospitals at Basti, Faizabad, Ferozabad and Shahjahanpur would be upgraded to medical colleges.

In the same way, delving in detail about the progress made in Food and Civil Supplies ministry in UP, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said approximately 7.44 lakh metric tonnes of food grains is being distributed per month to 3.29 crore card holders through 77,835 fair price shops in the state.
He said that allocation of wheat has been increased by 15.47 per cent while rice has been increased by 3.25 per cent. Thus, total annual allocation has been increased by approximately 8.5 lakh metric tonne, Paswan said.
Similarly, godowns of approximately 13 lakh metric tonne storage capacities has been constructed in UP region alone, Paswan further said and added that total capacity of the region now stands at 44 LMT.
