Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PDD, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Industries & Commerce Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today conducted an extensive tour of Dooru Constituency and inspected various developmental works being executed under R&B sector in Dooru-Shahabad areas of Ananatnag district and addressed a series of public meetings.
During the tour, Syed Farooq Andrabi visited Manzmoh, Tanjloo, Check-i-Bakerwal, Check-i-Wagund, Qammer, Kapran, Hingipora, Nowgamnaad and Ringmado Hilly areas and proposed construction of six new roads in the area which will link Qazigund-Kharpati, Dungiwari-Jinjoobalipati, Astan check-Kharpati via water Tanki area, Shirmarg-Kharnard, Chokarpati-Sirpalan and Tangtraji-Bokadpati areas.
The Minister directed the concerned to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) on priority basis under PMGSY scheme so that the work on these roads can be started at an earliest. He also directed the concerned to start the construction of already approved Manzmoh-check-i-Bakerwal, Qammerabad-Drabhaal, Halsidar-Trajan and Hingipora-Kapran roads on priority.
During the day-long tour, the Minister interacted with various deputations and individuals who apprised him about various issues being confronted to them in their day-to-day life. He heard them patiently and assured that their genuine grievances would be redressed.
Syed Farooq Andrabi announced Rs. 3 lakh for the construction and development of a school and Rs. 4 lakh for the development of playfield at Qammer, Shahbad area out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Addressing public gathering, the Minister said the Coalition Government led by Ms. Mehbooba Mufti is committed for the welfare and development of people living in far flung areas of the state. He said Manzmoh area of Anantnag district is feasible for Eco-tourism and directed the tourism department to prepare a comprehensive project report soon to tap the tourism potential of the area. He said that a model hospital will be constructed in Dooru for the convenience of the people, saying that he will work hard to make Dooru a model constituency of the state.Among others, Chief Engineer PMGSY D.D. Gorkha, SEs, Executive Engineers, A.E.E, BDOs, Tehsildars and other officers of line departments accompanied the Minister during the tour.
