A joint team of Nepalese and Indian police has rescued Nepalese Industrialist Suresh Kedia on Sunday from Motihari of Indian eastern state of Bihar, who was kidnapped by an unidentified armed outfit four days ago.

Kedia was kidnapped from Gadhimai of Bara District when he was traveling to Birgunj in Parsa District bordering India in a private jeep, some 283 km south of the Nepalese Capital.

According to media reports, one of the kidnappers has been arrested by Bihar Police for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping.

In the incident, the kidnapper had shot at and seriously injured Kedia's driver before kidnapping him.

Tightening security at the India-Nepal key border points, the police launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects of Kedia's kidnappers.

Kedia, a member of Kedia Group, is the owner of Parwanipur-based Birgunj Food Industry among many other industries in the southern region of Nepal bordering India. Endit
