Morphing into a one-man wrecking crew, Klay Thompson provided the bulk of the scoring for the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals as they pulled of an incredible win to extend an incredible series to a seventh game on Monday in Oakland.

With Golden State on the brink of the elimination, Thompson caught fire from long range, draining 11 three-pointers which broke the NBA's record for most made threes in a playoff game. And get this: he thought he should've made even more!

"I should've had at least 13 [threes] because I missed some wide-open ones early," Thompson said.

The previous record of nine threes had stood since 2011 when Jason Terry was 9-of-10 from long range against the Los Angeles Lakers. Terry shared that now beaten record with Rex Chapman, Vince Carter and Ray Allen, who hit nine threes in two different playoff games.

Thompson's record-breaking three (his tenth) was from well behind the arc, right in the face of Russell Westbrook and similar to the plethora of threes his teammate Stephen Curry has hit this season:

In breaking the record, Thompson was an outstanding 11-of-17 from three (64.7 percent).

Previously the most threes Thompson made in a playoff game was eight, which was against the Spurs in 2013. Thompson also made seven threes in this year's playoffs against the Houston Rockets in the first round. And make no mistake, the Warriors needed every single one of Thompson's bombs. Several times the Thunder looked to be on the verge of pulling away, and Thompson just kept hitting from deeper and deeper en route to 41 points until finally Curry got hot alongside him. And then it was lights out.

For the game the Warriors outscored the Thunder 63-9 from the 3-point line. A lot will be made of OKC's rebounding advantage in this series and in this game, but a 54-point discrepancy from the arc is just too much to overcome.
