Plea to resume land registrations in Singh Nagar
Vijayawada: Urging the state government to resume land registrations in Payakapuram and Ajit Singh Nagar, CPM on Saturday said that putting curbs on registrations is nothing but stalling development of the area.
Addressing a meeting organised by the party here, state secretariat member Ch Babu Rao said that the restrictions are hampering middle-class and lower middle-class people from purchasing plots in the city.
"It is unreasonable to include Ajit Singh Nagar under the assigned land quota. The dreams of lower income groups have been dashed due to these unfair restrictions. The government should immediately resume the registrations," he emphasised.
It may be recalled that GO 296, in August 2015, put a stop to registrations in Ajit Singh Nagar.
Babu Rao added that the public representatives who expressed concern when the registrations on MG Road and Karl Marx Road were stopped kept mum in the case of Ajit Singh Nagar. "Leaders including the ones from the ruling party should not discriminate between different areas. The government should immediately issue a GO resuming the registrations in Ajit Singh Nagar. It should also allow registrations from Payakapuram to Kandrika," he demanded.
CPM has called for a signature campaign and protests here on Monday, demanding resumption of registrations.
