LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore caught two fake candidates sitting the exams in place of real candidates in two different examinations halls for the Intermediate Annual Examinations on Thursday. According to details, around 17 special squads of BISE were appointed for inspecting examination halls and centres across the city to counter cheating mafia and other irregularities. While visiting the examination centre in Mansoora Degree College, located at Wahdat Road, a fake candidate, Moazzam, was sitting with roll no 654062 in place of Arslan. Similarly, during a visit of an examination centre at Kot Radha Kishan, a fake candidate, Muhammad Ramzan, was sitting in place of Saleh Rafique against roll no 555212. However, another candidate, Mukhtar Ahmad with roll no 757052, was caught red handed while cheating during the exam. A case of using ‘Unfair Means’ was filed against Mukhtar. BISE spokesman Qaiser Virk told Daily Times that both candidates, Moazzam and Ramzan, were handed to local police and FIRs have been registered against them. He said that actions would also be taken against the real candidates for allowing others to appear in place of them. He said that inspection squads were already strict in inspecting the districts of Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib, as every year reports of cheating were received from these areas. The spokesman added that the Lahore Board chairman has instructed that examination staff and the candidates cannot take mobile phones in the centres. In case of violation, strict action shall be taken against the accused.
