CBSE results: city schools fare well

Several students score 10 CGPA while many schools register 100 per cent pass

The performance of city students in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination was praiseworthy with several students scoring the 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and schools registering 100 per cent pass.

The Delhi Public School (DPS), Nacharam, secured 100 per cent pass with all 325 students clearing the exam. Sunitha S. Rao, principal, said that 58 students scored perfect 10 CGPA while 17 scored 9.8 CGPA. As many as 167 students out of 325 scored 9 CGPA and above while 8 CGPA and above was scored by the remaining 234 students. She said 131 scored perfect 10 in Foundation of IT, 116 in English, 109 in Social Science, 94 in Science, 85 in Math, 71 in Hindi, 32 in Telugu and 6 in French.

The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, performed extremely well with all the163 students passing the exam. School principal, Dr. Narsimha Reddy, said that 32 students scored the perfect 10 CGPA that accounted for 20 per cent of total students. The remaining 75 per cent of students got more than 8 CGPA.

Students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Jubilee Hills, secured 100 per cent pass. Out of the 273 students, 79 achieved 10 CGPA while 161 students achieved A1 grade points, said C. Rama Devi, senior principal. The Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Kondapur, also registered 100 per cent pass and among them 28 per cent students secured 10 CGPA while 54 per cent got more than 9 CGPA, according to Vasanthy Parasuraman, principal. Another 100 per cent was scored by Pallavi Model School, Alwal, with 26 students getting 10 CGPA out of the 75 who appeared for the exam, said T. Hari Babu, principal. The Kennedy Global School has for the 11th consecutive year emerged with 100 per cent success. Out of 173 students, 138 students secured A1 grade in which 82 students secured 10 CGPA.

Students of Jubilee Hills Public School brought laurels securing 100 per cent pass. Out of 188 students, 100 students secured A1 grade out of which 46 students scored 10 CGPA. Sindhu Gunturi, Medicherla Siri Sanmayi, Sikha Arkesh Anjananand, Nandamuri Spandana and Niharika Manchem are the school toppers, said M. Varalakshmi, principal.

Principal of the Meridian School, , D. Usha Reddy, said that 114 students got 90 per cent out of the 171. She said 69 students secured 10 CGPA while 45 students secured 9 CGPA and 52 got 8 CGPA.

The Vignan Schools said that every third student secured 10 CGPA while 75 per cent of students secured more than 9 CGPA. School chairperson Rani Rudrama Devi said that A. Sahiti, K Vishnu Priya, V. Poojita and V. Sumana were among those who secured 10 CGPA and were also national throw-ball players. Sahiti secured gold medal in the NASA Olympiad while K. Nikhil represents the State in cricket.
