Rohit conquered adversities to score 85% sans tuition

Nagpur: His parents chose to leave a well-settled life and business in the neighbouring country to migrate to India with the only aim to introduce their son to Indian education and traditions. Their efforts bore fruits when Rohit Juriasinghani, a student of Jain International School, secured 85% marks in CBSE X exam.
Eight years back, Rohit came to Nagpur and fought all adversities, including learning disability, to excel in Std X exam that too without taking any tuitions.
Though he is not among the toppers, Rohit’s achievements are commendable.
Rohit, now aims to fulfil his father — Raj Juriasinghani’s dream of becoming an engineer. Juriasinghani, who runs an electrical shop at Golibar Square, was on cloud nine when he got the news. “This is the happiest moment in our lives.In the neighbouring terror-battered country, we suffered huge discrimination. We wanted to raise our children according to Hindu tradition,” said Juriasinghani.
It was not an easy decision for the family which had to sell the ancestral house before migrating to India. “I had a wholesale shop of leather bags which was doing well. At that time, Rohit was in class two. Though he was studying in English medium school, there they were imparting education in foreign languages which made things difficult for him,” said Juriasinghani, who struggling to settle business here.
Rohit, who helps his father in his business, said it was quite difficult for him to switch over to new environment. “I had to leave my childhood friends and it was quite tough to adjust initially. But thanks to school authorities who helped me achieve success,” an elated Rohit said.
