For Ipsita Roy, daughter of an Indian diplomat father and royal mother, choosing Wicca as her religion and profession, was just as normal as decision to go ahead with Medical or engineering.

She dedicated her life to dispelling myths about witchcraft and its healing power, by building a Wiccan brigade that carries out psychic investigations in search of what lies beyond the grasp of the naked, skeptical eye.

Her initiative, The Wiccan Brigade and the 'Brigaders', is aimed to get the country rid of fears about witchcraft that plague even the so-called modern Indian.

Recently, the brigade conducted expeditions around two of most haunted places in India- Bhangarh fort, and the Chanakya BNR Hotel, to seek the truth behind the ghostly existence.

Here’s what they had to say…

Bhangarh fort:

“Our findings revealed that this was no ordinary ghost story. We photographed [from eight different cameras] strange lights; dusky shapes which followed us around, and luminous orbs in the 'exorcism chamber'.”

They also reported of some malevolent energy in some parts that was aware of the teams' presence.

“That chamber responded to our thoughts and prayers for peace, and many trapped souls seemed to find a healing and release. It was akin to a cleansing.”

Chanakya BNR Hotel:

In 2012, the team explored a heritage hotel in Puri, Orissa, “The property said to be more than 100 years old and has a reputation for being haunted by the past. Strange manifestations were seen and felt by many of the team, and inexplicable signs came forth in photographs.”
