Two years down, BJP has only succeeded in creating paranoia in India: Sanjay Jha

PANAJI: Hitting out at the NDA government for wasteful expenditure to mark two years of Narendra Modi’s rule, the Congress, on Saturday, said that the only development seen under Modi’s rule as the prime minister was “communal development”. The Congress also slammed the government for non-appointment of Lok Pal.
Speaking in Goa, All India Congress Committee spokesperson Sanjay Jha said that the BJP’s “divisive politics” had only put democracy under stress in the country.“Today there is a state of paranoia in the country. Institutions, including the media, are under threat. All divisive politics has the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Jha alleged.
To counter the BJP’s massive publicity blitz and the massive cultural show at India Gate to mark the completion of two years of the NDA government, the Congress has dispatched senior leaders to all states to highlight the Modi-government failures. The Congress has also come out with a booklet citing facts to back up its assertion.
On the Union government’s failure to appoint the Lokpal, Jha said, “It has been two years now, why has Modi not appointed the Lokpal? Is it waiting for the last year of its rule so that its scams cannot be brought up?”
The Congress also came out in support of Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan, charging that vocal criticism of Rajan’s policies by senior BJP leaders had Modi’s blessings.
