Lucknow: BSP's Rajya Sabha nominee Satish Chandra Mishra's assets grew 20-fold in the past six years. While Mishra's movable assets increased over 13 times, the immovable assets registered an increase of 7 times.
As per the affidavit filed by Mishra on Saturday, he has movable assets of around Rs 35 crore, more than 13 times in 2010 when his moveable assests were worth just Rs 2.5 crore.
The rise is not just in cash and other financial instruments, but also in jewellery. A lawyer, Mishra has also upgraded the fleet of luxury cars he used six years ago. He now owns two Mercedes cars instead of a Honda, Toyota and a tractor he had in 2010.
Mishra's immovable assets, too, have registered a significant rise -- from over Rs 9.18 crore in 2010 to over Rs 68.66 crore in 2016. This include the rise in the value of three agricultural plots, three residential plots, including the one in posh Windsor Place in Lucknow. The BSP nominee also owns a residential plot in Sector 15-A, Noida besides having a share in a residential building in Sundar Nagar, New Delhi.
The movable and immovable assets of his wife, Kalpana Mishra, rose by over 13 and over 7 times, respectively. The affidavit shows that in 2010, Kalpana had movable assets worth Rs 1.94 crores. But, six years later, they have spiralled to over Rs 25 crore. Her jewellery, which increased by a kilogram from over 3.2 kg to 4.2 kg in six years, is alone worth over Rs 1.70 crore.
The worth of immovable property owned by Kalpana too has gone up almost 10 times -- from Rs 6.32 crore in 2010 to over Rs 64.15 crore.
In contrast, BSP's other Rajya Sabha candidate, Ashok Siddharth, has movable assets worth over Rs 1.45 crore. This includes Rs 2.4 lakh cash, 10,000 shares with a hotel in Bengaluru, 170 grams jewellery and an SUV. His wife Sunita has movable assets worth over Rs 36 lakh.
According to the affidavit, Siddharth's immovable assets are worth Rs 2.91 crore. Though he does not own any agricultural land, he has a 54,000 square feet plot worth around Rs 1.4 crore in Nawabganj tehsil of Barabanki. He also owns a 300 sq mts plot worth over Rs 38 lakh in Madhuvan housing scheme of Ghaziabad. His another property is in Gomtinagar area of Lucknow which he jointly owns with his wife Sunita Devi. Sunita has immovable properties worth Rs 2.23 crore. This include a 332.4 sq mts of plot in Delhi.
